18 November 2025: 16th Workers' Voice Breakfast

Building the future of Corporate Governance

The Hans Böckler Foundation cordially invites participants to its upcoming Workers’ Voice Breakfast on 18 November 2025 at 8:30 a.m. at Otone Offices, Square Ambiorix 44, Brussels.

The event will focus on the European Commission’s proposal for a 28th company law regime, which aims to create a uniform legal framework for companies operating across EU Member States. While the initiative seeks to reduce administrative burdens and promote cross-border business, it also raises significant concerns regarding its potential effects on workers’ rights, employee participation, and democratic corporate governance.

Dr. Sebastian Sick, company law expert and member of the German Corporate Governance Code Commission, will provide an in-depth assessment of the current proposal and its implications. The discussion will highlight the benefits of workers’ participation, address ongoing practices that circumvent employee rights, and examine how the new regime could influence social and labour standards across Europe.

This breakfast meeting aims to bring together diverse perspectives from academia, trade unions, and policy circles to critically evaluate the proposal’s impact on Social Europe. Coffee and croissants will be served. Participants are kindly asked to confirm attendance by 11 November 2025.
